Hello friends ! 🙂
I insist on this again.
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/subwoofers/303987-vintage-jbl-subwofer.html
I'm negotiating with WAF, we'll see ....😀
I have looked for information and it seems that it is better to build a subwofer myself and not buy something commercial. It's the philosophy that I like, this is DIY!
So doubts come back to me:
I wanted to use this Eminence Sigma Pro 18 speaker, it's easy to get it here.
http://www.eminence.com/pdf/Sigma_Pro_18A_2.pdf
But the plans Eminence suggests are for bass reflex cabinets.
Is it possible to use this speaker in a sealed box? Any experience?
The idea is to reduce the volume of the box for a home use.
The other question that arises me is with regard to the amplifier, as I have already suggested here, a powerful power option with possibility of adjustment of pitch frequencies, gain, etc. Would be the Beringher Inuke NU1000DSP.
NU1000DSP | Portable Amplifiers | Power Amplifiers | Behringer | Categories | MUSIC Group
But, here I have no high-level connection taken from the main speakers ....😱
How can I connect this amplifier to the Prima Luna? There is no pre-out variable output, only rec out and constant audio signal. You can see the back panel here:

Should I go to a Hypex or similar board amplifier ?

I can not use the Beringher? 😕
Again, any ideas?
Thanks in advance

sealed without EQ, it'll roll off below ~70Hz - - its qts is good for a 6th order reflex with underdamped 2nd order highpass (might fake that with some EQ)
a long time ago, I used a similar spec Eminence 18 in a reflex about that size and tuning

It is possible, but with a volume of 90 L a smaller woofer in a vented enclosure probably works better. But the plans Eminence suggests are for bass reflex cabinets.

You could attenuate the loudspeaker-level signal with some resistors and feed it to the Behringer iNuke. But, here I have no high-level connection taken from the main speakers ....😱

Thanks Freddi 🙂
The cabinet sealed, I understood well ?
- 23 db roll off in 20 hz ? 😕
Well, that's not what I'm looking for from a sub ....... I think I prefer the abrupt fall typical of a bass reflex below FS .....🙄
Or maybe choose another driver for about 100 liters (cubic feet 3,53 ) in sealed ?
What would you choose from all this offer available here in my country? And why, if not abuse of your time ....
Bajos

I JUST see this in the top post ..
You could attenuate the loudspeaker-level signal with some resistors and feed it to the Behringer iNuke.
Putting resistors to attenuate is possible in an SS equipment, reduces the power but increases the distortion, change factordamping factor, etc. It is not appropriate for a hi-fi equipment .... but also, all this I think it does not apply in the same way, in amplifier with tubes, there are other electronic variants ....
Humm, but how do they do on board amplifiers for subwofers with connection to binding post baffles? Can someone give information about it ?
