Has anyone here looked into doing the sort of stuff diagrammed in these articles:

It seems to have many applications besides just enlarging the image from a CRT, though it seems to do that well, also...
I have obtained some metallized film and have a short piece of 12" diameter piece of PVC pipe with a square edge to use for a form. I expect to be trying it out some time in the next week or so.
