I am looking to upgrade a PSU in a peice of digital studio equipment.
It is switched mode, I think (I have no schematic).
On the outputs are strange 3 legged components that look like small dipped polyester caps (bright orange). The markings on the PCB indicate EM1,EM2...etc. What are they?
On the component itself are the numbers....

I'm curious.....?
Thanks

It is most likely a T-filter. Inside it would have an LC circuit or two inductors and a capactior for EMI suppression. It helps control conductive emissions. This is most likely what it is. Sometimes RF caps have a third lead attached to a shield but this is unlikely here.
