Hey!
I've been scratching my head for some time now and I'm not sure if I'm overthinking it so I thought I would finally ask. I have an AMP6 wired and operational, as well as a couple of Sure TA2024 on the way. I only want to use one speaker with one amp so I guess I would have to parallel the outputs from the amp to the speaker, so far so good?
What I can't wrap my head around is how to get a mono signal to the amp. Let's say I want to play music from my phone which will feed a stereo signal through a stereo cable (3,5mm or 1/8"). I soldered on the 3,5mm input on the AMP6 but I could remove it. At first I was thinking about a stereo-to-mono adapter but that will still just play one channel while shorting the other. So how do I connect it? I have seen people talking about putting a resistor on the output, while some have said it should be on the input etc. Could someone please explain which is the easiest solution and possibly a sketch of how I should wire it? I'm not entirely a noob but please explain it like I'm a complete idiot 😉
I don't want to feed a mono-signal from my phone (in case other people use it with their stereo-settings). I'll be forever grateful as my head is hurting from the hours I've spent on diyAudio, 41Hz and Google. 😕

Well first off the small Tripath chips were not meant to be connected with the outputs in parallel. The problem being that they don't necessarily switch at the same time. In practice, it may not be a problem. You won't gain any power this way, tho you may be able to run a 2 ohm speaker.
You want to mix the incoming signals to one channel. The simplest way to do that is thru 2 resistors at the input, as you have seen published.

Yeah I got that, I'm not doing it do gain any power, just to have an easy solution and still be able to use my amps. My problem is that I don't understand how I should wire the resistors at the input and would like an easier explanation than those I've come across.
