Stasis - tantal condenser

Early Threshold product had some tantalum caps that looked like little
colorful gumdrops. Unfortunately, they had a higher failure rate over the
long term than I would have wanted.

There were lots of them in Stasis 1 control boards - I am currently repairing
four of those for an old friend.

They can be replaced by normal aluminum electrolytics, with comparable
values. Most of them were 4.7 or 47 uF and none of them were run at
higher than 15 volts, so a 25V cap would be adequate.

😎

ps. I don't recall them blowing an amp, just making it run poorly or not at all.

Thanks, Mr. Pass! It is a Stasis 3 and I just got info about the tantalum time-bomb....
Perhaps it is not that serious - amp will not blow...

The amp sounds nice, 41-45gC on heatsinks but one channel is warming up faster than the other. Is that something to worry about?
