I'm pondering high quality stand mounted designs. Zaph ZD5, the new A26 design, or some Troels designs, etc.
I noticed that Madisound has a rather good price on the Seas Excel W18-EX-002 at the moment. The only published designs seem to pair it with a SEAS T25 tweeter, which is above my price range. Are there other options or designs for this driver?
I have considered going active with this design and using a MiniDSP for the crossover. In that case, I could experiment a bit, but I want to make sure the drivers are compatible.
Anyone have experience with this driver or suggestions about options?
Thanks

SEAS EXCEL TWEETERS vs. SEAS PRESTIGE TWEETERS
The Seas tweeters look like good options for many and a great choice.

Thanks for the suggestions.
From what I've read, the W18EX is difficult to mate with a tweeter. It begins to break up if crossed too high. That means I need to locate a tweeter that goes low. The SEAS line is really attractive, but I've not seen any other designs that use them with this woofer. I'm willing to experiment with the crossover using the miniDSP, but I want to make sure they can coexist without major drawbacks.

The Dayton RS28A and F are excellent tweeters that easily can cross to the W18EX. Very good price too.
SB Acoustics SB29RDC is another option.
Can't go wrong with any of them. 🙂
