Hello all.
I own a pair of Spendor SP 1/2e's that I am interested in restoring and/or upgrading.
I have purchased replacement tweeters and mid range drivers (new in box scanspeak).
I now need to find replacement woofers for the cabinets. The current drivers are Spendor SD-08-A (no. 19873). Picture attached.
I am having a hell of a time locating a pair. I would like to go with unused condition obviously.
Any ideas for either an upgrade or a source for the original?

Part of the appeal of Spendor speakers is tightly matched speaker drivers and pairing of the speakers. What prompted you to change the drivers? Were they blown? I think Spendor is the only ($$$$) source of a custom midbass. I have the same boxes.
Sorry should have been more specific.
I grabbed a pair of sp1/2e's for about 1k off of shopgoodwill a while back in 2020 (I know, I know, not ideal).
Love the sound, and absolutely blown away by the midrange. Killer speaker all around and by far the best I've run.
Unfortunately, it looks like the right speaker is failing. I think both the mid tweeter and the woofer.
The right speaker sound and volume is noticeably less than the left, clarity is all off. Sound is muddy, mid is buried, and volume is lower. When I press the woofer, there's a slight scratch (voice coil?) and I have a feeling they're due for a tune up or an upgrade.
Tweeter is noticeably harder to deterct in the right speaker, and the mid is muddy to boot. Tweeter I expect had been failing then kicked recently.
I've paired to Scott 222, Marantz 2285b, Marantz 2240 and an ArcamA19 and the problem is persistent.
I have found new tweeters, and midrange drivers (the same scanspeak models as the cabinet) that are available for purchase. I'm now looking for the 8 inch replacements. My goal is to get them back to new by replacing the 3 components in each cabinet.

Which replacement Scanspeak tweeters and midrange drivers did you choose?
I have a pair of SP1/2Es that could use some TLC as well. I've been unable to find documentation on the drivers and crossovers, and haven't had any luck trying to contact Spendor.

Just a guess, but I think those are Scanspeak drivers in mid and supertweeter:

The 8 mounting hole bass has the look of an SB Acoustics variant to me.

Perhaps Spendor paint some white damping goo on the back of the plasticcy ones in SB's range.
Always a good idea to measure the diameter of a bass, and check around.
I won't go into the diagnostic tests and fixes which clearly have not been applied here.
Best, Steve.
