hello I am looking to upgrade a speaker in a cabinet with a active crossover/amp combo the driver is a 4 ohm 95db.sens I am interest in changing it with a driver of interest with specs of 8 ohm 100db. sens . I am aware there are a lot of factors in this but anybody have any input ?tnx
We would need to know what speaker you are planning on modifying. Beyond that it's all speculation
You would need to ensure that the replacement driver will suit the box/tuning, or that will need to me modified.
You will also need to consider whether the low pass filter crossover slope will give a suitable match for your mid/tweeter with the replacement driver

Thank You for your response!Yes it is a P.A. system peavey impulse 12d ribbon tweeter crossover 2k 24db. peavey uses a dual voice coil scorpion 12" driver sdc-1288 neo and looking to replace it with Ciare 12NDH-4 - 12" really interested in this driver it is 8 ohms but it is more efficient and the box size looks like it will work . Tuning I might have to play with and crossover is active.Ordered drivers today will play and see what I get.
