Speaker cable connection to a Yamaha P2200 power amp.

Wiring thick-ish speaker cable into a Yamaha P2200 power amp..
The hole in the amp's binding post is a bit too thin to accept the speaker cable.
So what's the very best way of doing this? Bare wire? Soldered tips? Spade lugs?
If so, what type and / or brand?

Forgot to mention that space at the back of the unit is super constrained. So that removes the banana plugs option for me.
Thanks everyone for your recommendations.

OldDIY, @OldDIY with your suggestion, after coiling and soldering the single core copper wire around the speaker cable strands, how do you envision the contact arrangement? Just feed the extended or projecting single core copper wire through the lateral hole in the binding post and tighten down the plastic nut?

Wind up the spiral, solder, insulate with tape. Bend the free end of the thin wire for convenience 🙂
Another option: at the end of 2 "cut and remove a part of the strands of the thick wire so that the rest enter the hole. Crimp and insulate the thick part, place the thin part in a heat-shrinkable tube.

You may need an additional suspension to the body so as not to accidentally damage the output connector with a jerk of the wire.

Cheers! Thank you.

These methods, despite being a bit of extra work and maybe not as aesthetically appealing, suggest maximum and most direct contact with the binding post.
Although I'm sure others may have other opinions..

The manufacurer states that this is a 200 watt amp.
So those binding posts are suitable for wire up to what they can handle.

What you're attempting to do is overkill with wire size.

The thick-ish cable may very well be overkill but, it having been gifted and now cut to length in situ, the forum is providing rational and elegant solutions to achieve the best possible connection to this particular amp’s binding posts.

Many thanks to everyone to date for their constructive suggestions. Appreciated.
