Source for coil winding wire

I am building my first set of DIY speakers and would like to know where I can buy bulk wire for winding crossiver inductors.

Also, what gauge is typically used?

Places that rebuild elec motors (see the yellow pages) will sell it by the lb. They usually use 15 gauge, but frequently have other sizes.

I have gotten some from Mouser and Hosfelt Electronics. You may still be able to get some from the Electonic Goldmine also.
