Hi
I bought this machine with the symptoms like above,
please advice what usually causes that esl does work quiet?
is it because of dust, transformer, amp, or something?
It plays ~30% volume comparing to good one.
Sch is attached
thank you in advance for any suggestions🙂

coating is screwed on one of the panels... most likly.
or it could be the amp that drives them. you can unscrew the front and swap the electrostatics with the other one , if the panels still plays softer on the other speaker. i bet its the coating.. i think you could easy get the panels appart as i remember and recoat them if needed.

no recoating after opening - possible?
I am afraid of recoating🙄
is this possible to unmount the speaker, check the coating and screw it again with old coating?
or after opening the coating is damaged and has to be recoated with new diaphragm?
thank you,... and recoat them if needed.

If i remember corectlly you can unscrew them and coat them without destroying the mylar.
but try swapping them first left for right and other way around. before doing any coating to know for sure its not the amplifier transformer or Highvoltage cascade.

How do you coat the mylar? I have a similar problem (both tweeters are very quiet even after cleaning them) and try to fix it but I don't know how. I have no experience with restoring audio but I'd like to give it a shot.
