Sony CDP-950 wont eject

I got my SONY CDP-950 today from Germany. I wrote to the seller, before I gave feedback, as

The SONY doesnt not eject, I had to take the cover off to nudge the tray to get it to eject. Another weird thing is it is unresponsive when i try to close the tray 😕🙁 ...next time toolhaus says the seller isnt 100% i wlll purchase

apart from that is in like new condition, and playback is good, no skipping yet

SOny CDP950 upgrade - caps etc

😱 gosh the SilmicII are much larger than the old caps though I did go up on voltage , 10v to 50v, but capacitance is the same.

🙁 job looks messy a bit so far, almost done, got some cheap Nichicon PW, for the rest of the pcb, to refresh the old caps there😱 I kept the same value and voltage with them.

I replaced the mylar capacitors near the opamps with Wima FKPs, but now I think I shouldve left them😕 ?

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Hi All

I got a SONY CDP950, i did the belt and it was playing well, and everything before the recap.

Outside the Audio , Power Supply section, I replaced the caps with Nichicon PW, Pano FM, same values and same voltage except some.

Audio and Power Section
Elna SilmicII, FG, and KW. Wima around the DAC, also the replaced mylar caps near the opamp with Wima.

example capacitance is the same, though voltage is higher example 25v to 100V ? wonder if this is causing problems 😕 i cant see any solder issues

I had the player playing without sound and since today, now i get disc memo error, so maybe taking the board out loosen the connector from the laser mech pcb😡

The flat cable connectors are very finicky. Sometimes little movement can solve the problem. Find out if any contacts on the flat cable have got deformed. Also check the continuity of the flat cables you reconnected.
