Hi guys,
Would any of you have info about the solartron transistor 43A216154P2 ?
I have about a dozen of those and would like to put them to some use.
They are 1/2" stud mounted quite big transistors, propable high voltage switching transistors.
All i could find by searching the web was that they are obsolete aviation parts.
I really would appreciate if any of you could give me some info about them.
Thanck you

All I get is trappers and out of stock / stock on back order.
Unlikely to have an application in audio.
Try posting a request / reading up in aviation electronics forums, though if they are scrap, it may not be worth your time.

We call that buying a cow when you have grass, in our popular language, Hindi.
Have fun.

Naresh, the transistors are NOS, the one in question is the "golden" stud mounted type in the lower row.

Thanck you wg_ski,
yes, those packages are mostly used in thyristors, but i know about the rest and they are transistors, (on the left is a rectifierdiode) the big one on the far rigth is Pd 1,5kW, 1kV 100A

If they are transistors they are going to be relatively low speed switching types. Maybe not much linear SOA. The predecessor of the IGBT, probably seen action in motor drives. If used in PWM, the switching frequency was probably under 10kHz. They may even have been driven by pulse transformers in half bridge, full bridge, or 3-phase.

Fun stuff to play around with, if you were so inclined. But hi-if it’s not…..

Yes, i thinck so too, switching transistors. I have some smaller ones from about the same time periond, max ft was less than 100Mhz. I got the stuff in the picture in a swap, around 1980-1990 I thinck, intended use was propable for the induction heater experiments i did in those days, cannot remember for sure...
