Smd -VS- Pdip,which one is the best choice?

hello all,I have noticed that a number of top grade(brand,expensive) HiFi player & DAC use Pdip packaged chips.
even if a smd based baord,the caps and the resistors are smd packaged but the chips are Pdip🙄

what do you think?Pdip beat Smd?
