Has anyone played with this? I never got around to it, but now I have a test CD and a CD HU to test with and was playing it on a sub. I changed to a smaller sub amp from a 150x2rms; a 190rms x1 bazooka ELA1190, but was running it on a battery at ~12.6V idle. The box is tuned around 35hz ported, it is a 10" 400w audiobahn clone. What I get with the smaller amp is under about 35Hz when I turn it up I also get a 40Hz tone at louder volumes. It may have been clipping as it was warm and on 12V. At 40 and up it did not do this. It has a 20Hz subsonic that seems to work. Is the amp getting some kind of harmonic or the box? I will play a larger amp again, don't recall it sounding that way but did not check it as well. The box is a qlogic 1cf but mounted the sub inverted and it is near factory specs for minimum size, looks ok on winISD. It shows -3db at 32Hz. Put a little stuffing in there too.
What are you asking exactly??
be specific...your post is like trying to solve a puzzle
I use test tones all the time for setting up amps and what not though

Have you heard this secondary tone and maybe know if the amp is making it and why, the 40Hz I hear below 40 and only at higher volume.
that noise is feedback coming from somewhere.
try running an 18 gauge wire grounding the head unit chassis to the amplifier chassis
