simple amp building question help please

hello,
this may seem like a dumb question because i posted it in power supply's and no-one replied, i will try make it simple. im building a standard 50w pp guitar amp that will be powering 3 ecc and two el34. bridge rect.

i dont know if the power rating givin for the amp is just the speaker output or if it includes the total power consumption of the entire amp. (heater element , dissipation etc)

I have two transformers to choose from that have come from 25w amps. they are rated 160watts and 200watts and were powering a similar tube config.

would either of these do for the project or are the ratings to low to power every thing ? thanks

The input power has to supply everything, including the transformer losses and filaments.
The 50W rating is only the audio signal power into a load.
Roughly, a one channel amp like this would need at least a 120W power transformer.
I'd go with the 200W transformer just to be sure it will be enough, if the voltages are similar.
Please be careful, high voltages are very dangerous.

thanks for replying, yep the output voltages are the same. I learnt my lesson with high voltage. i fried a circuit path learning to bias my old guitar amp years ago and have had a couple of zings forgetting to unplug from the wall and lifting the chassis up right where the mains switch is so im pretty cautious and discharge every thing and check with a meter if im not sure.

i have one other quick question, i know the ot's i have wont be rated high enough, as a general question i am just wondering if ot's from class a single ended amps can be used in push pulls or if they are designed completely different? just trying to work out what parts to keep for future projects because i probably wont bother with single ended in the future, cheers
