Silly XLR Connector/jack Question

I just need a few parts to finish a pre amp that I have been working on.

I need some nice XLR jacks/connectors for the chassis.... Would anyone be able to recommend a part number? I can figure out male/female from that. When I search there are too many choices.

Metal housing? Plastic housing?

Neutrik NC3FD-LX is a nice 3 position panel mount female connector. Associated datasheet will show the others in the series.

I always use Neutrik D series panel mount, Parts Express in the marketplace forum. For connectors I prefer DH labs silver sonic. For cable, three wire twisted with a shield allows for either metal or plastic, unless your rough, then metal. My opinion only.
