Just finished building the Classic D kit to use as a bass amplifier in a chassis I had lying around, but am having a problem with low output power. The Classic D amp from Silicon Chip is specified as having 2.2V RMS input sensitivity, but my pre-amp outputs only 1V RMS. Any body know what I should change the Input gain resistors to ,to get a better match?
Ive built 2 of these boards and yes they are not very sensitive. i would leave the onboard opamp alone and add a gain stage between your preamp and the amp board have a look at High Quality Audio Preamp for ideas on gain and topology. Greg
Thanks for that Greg. I was trying to avoid putting another board in there, was hoping I can tweak the onboard opamp, but am not sure about messing with the feedback circuit.
