i know it has been discussed over and over

i got a shiva 12" + a 300W peak amp
need to build a quick box for a project
that is for a friend of mine

speaker will be in the wall with face facing in the room
there is a big big closet at the back

this is used to fill up for mainly home theater and video games, primary drivers are full range Veravox3" 16 times in array on the wall .. kinda infinite baffle like

i know that a lot of you builded subs with this woofer
is 100liter sealed box a goood choice??

any free quick sooftware can be used to determine what kind of box i should go with ?

it needs to be as simple as possible ( time restraints )

thanks again much 🙂

build the shiva EBS ported application for home theater if you want something for home theater. You WILL NOT regret it. If you can't find the dimensions on their site, try contacting adire, .. or if that fails, email me and I'll see if I still have the pdf of thier shiva ported application guide (it may have been for a slightly older version of the shiva)

PS: If you use sonotube, it becomes very easy to build.

sonotube could be good
how long does it need to be ?

i don't have unlimited length behind the closet

thing is though, that the exit of the port will be isolated from the front firing waves ...does that matter?

i could always do a sqaure plate for front
and use a sonotube at the back, then make a 90 turn
and have it vent just aside of the front on the wall

would do some kind of transmission line ??

any benefit for that VS sealed/ported?

i geuss that i could tune for some specific hz boost

roughly 3 ft tall at 18" Internal diameter (IIRC) . The ported volume was around 134 litres. I have the driver firing out of the top and the port firing out of the bottom and the enclosure suppported by 6 " wooden legs. This worked best for me, though you could experiment with the driver on the bottom and port on top.

The footprint of this design would be around 2 ft x 2 ft. It is tuned to around 17Hz.
