Sequerra Metronome, anyone remembers it?

Is anyone here having info, specs, or experience with these speakers? I'm looking for a "small" pair of decent speakers for my living room, and I found a pair cheap on the net.

So, the big Tannoys could stay in my audio room in the workshop.. and I could build horn for them.. as long as the living room stays clean of big speakers..

p.s. do these compare to LS3/5A. I would have bought Reference 3A MM de Capo.. but the budget went on a Saab.. ;-)

Sequerra Metronome

Hi Dave,

Finding decent small speakers is not that easy. So, I made a guess and bid on them at around $200 and won them on Ebay. As I told before, I would have liked something like the Reference 3A, or LS3, or Harbeth, but they are all over $1k and hard to find. And since I replaced my car, the budget has shrunk..

I'll keep you posted and let you know how I feel about them when they arrive.

I need a small decent system in the house, allowing me to fiddle with my bigger toys in my audio room.

Among projects.. these unused Isophon Reds are still waiting for a decent project. I equally found another identical pair, but with the black (or dark grey) magnets. I guess one should use them on an open baffle as a midrange?

Thanks for your answer.

I'll guess ahead of your review that you got a really goos deal.

The Reds are quite rare. The one working pair i had were before i was measuring T/S. I've had quite a few greys but haven't measured those either. I think i have a pair stashed that i could measure.

My guess would be OB based on other isophons i have measured. Based on magnet strength, the reds should have lower Q and might be suitable for something else.

(for those who wonder what the * we are talking about, the red & grey isophons are a deluxe 7" FR... the picture attached shows the dif)
