I consider this part of the DIY Audio forums as a research center run or at least driving by Nelson and his wonderful electronics proposals.
I noticed that most of it are based on "non obtainable" or old new stock of transistors.
Why that ? Can't we find in the actual productions some interesting components ?
For instance, things like this :

I have no idea if these could even be placed into a musically interesting amp, but here is the idea.

All DIY projects was and are made with obtainable transistors.
Just they less actual after 8~10 years for example SemiSouth
Anyways contact EUVL in Group Buys if You want build with this power jfet's.
For exotica SIT's we get verified sources with sellers in Japan etc.

You can try to build a simple Pass-alike amp with it, but lots of experimenting is promised. Keep the fire extinguisher at hand.
Specs are simple and straightforward though. I think it can work.

I agree with Dennis - the MoFo is a fantastic project and should be built by everybody interested in a fun and great sounding amp.
