I'm a big fan of extreme dynamic loudspeaker like Altec Lansing Pro VOTT and 409-8C and duplex.
I quit the pro audio world since 20 years to go with boring home loudspeaker without never finding again the same details and dynamic of sound.
Now I'm ready for new DIY project and I want to know what's the best bang for the buck 2021 audiophile quality HORN and 15 or 18" woofer brands, to reach the sound of my sweet childhood pro audio drivers....

Well, you can buy/assemble/DIY brand new Altec M19 clones. Great Plains Audio has the components plus factory cab drawings to either DIY or have a cabinet shop make the parts or buy finished. Not cheap or particularly good 'bang/buck' depending on your definition since GPA doubled their prices recently.
Otherwise, there's a bunch to choose from, though really need a price/performance range to proceed to narrow it down.

You might look at this thread. It's certainly affordable, and would give you a chance to see/hear if your memory is correct - rose-coloured glasses being a possibility.
