Hello to All,
I have a simple question, I think it is simple. 🙄
May I simply replace:
2SA1695 https://www.digikey.com/products/en?keywords=2sa1695
with
2SA2151 https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/sanken/2SA2151/2SA2151-ND/3929421
and
2SC4468 https://www.digikey.com/products/en?keywords=2sc4468
with
2SC6011 https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/sanken/2SC6011/2SC6011-ND/3929418
https://www.milanmedia.pro/assets/ax-10.pdf - Main power amp is on page 11.
I did notfind to many diferences. basically they match. Eg. Vce Saturation (Max) @ Ib, Ic, Current - Collector Cutoff (Max), DC Current Gain (hFE) (Min) @ Ic, Vce, both are 20MHz.
Just output cappacitance is different: 2SA1695 typ 400pf vs 2SA2151 450pf and 2SC4468 250typ pf vs 2SC6011 270pf, so I guess I should change somewhere some PP capacitor on the output, isn't so?
Thanks for an update!

if there's no constraint on the max power and voltage you may try 2sa1694 and 2sc4467 too...they're found a lot in 5.1 onkyo systems.
2SA2151 and 2SC6011 are having higher Breakdown voltage and Current - Collector. I guess higher is OK. I got into these, because they are used in Yamaha A-S500 which has nice detailed sound 🙂

All these values you quote are anyway typical values which may easily vary +/-50% even for the same type. So based on those numbers they are equivalent.
One other thing you might want to check is the Safe Operating Area (if in the datasheet). That is important for reliability.

@jan.didden I had a look. There is some graph with lines. 😱
After looking on it I guess it looks ... somehow sophisticated.

for decades we used to fix amps based on an old ECA transistor equivalents book with minimal datasheet and rarely we had a problem...Almost every power transistor in the 100...150w range can be replaced with 2sc 5200-2sa1942 or mjl 4281-mjl4302(the replacement for some older famous toshiba transistors). We don't have the finest transistors of yesterday at hand but the best designs don't rely on the sheer transistor parameters as much as we'd think. https://www.datasheetarchive.com/2SA1695/B1560+equivalent-datasheet.html
A-S501 sankens
Hi,
I replaced the original Sankens from A-S501 with MJL3281A / MJL1302A and added the parallels too, because the pcb is the same with A-S701, 801 also and only a few modifications are needed. I changed the coupling capacitor for amplifier input stage from Nichicon electrolytic to 2.2 uF Miflex MKP bypassed with a small value Miflex KPCU and added pre-in RCA sockets in the back of amplifier to use with Pavel Macura's Dispre II preamp. It sounds wonderful and it's pretty fast, I'm very satisfied with modifications.
