Hello everyone. Since I’m an old guy, I’m step-by-step refurbishing/fixing all my beloved SAE stuff: presently SAE 3200 tuner, second hand, US version 110V. Well, first step, since I live in
Europe, I successfully swapped the original 110V xformer with a 220V toroidal one. Then all the polarized caps. Push buttons have bad action and uncertain result. Is the tuning knob driving a variable capacitor or a resistor? I see three-legged capacitors (?) that could be filters… Sorry, when I’ve no schematics, I feel lost. Can anyone out there help the whole service manual or at least the schematics, please? Of course I’m willing to pay for it … thanks for a kind reply, if any. Cheers.

Hello goodnight. I'm also looking for the service manual for the SAE 3200 Tuner FM. I can't find it anywhere. I'm also willing to pay for it. Mine is working, but there is a problem that is almost making me abandon it: When I tune in to a station, with the stereo LED on, with up to 4 signal LEDs on, after a few songs, sometimes 5 minutes, sometimes 30 minutes later, the station is lost, as if I were bumping the knob, for example if it's on station 105.1 then it goes to 105.2 and goes out of stereo and out of center... Then I hit the knob back to 105 .1 and it returns to stereo and a strong signal again.
Hi rogerio. I actually have … well … no problem. But the tuning-component whatsoever ain’t that good. Push buttons as well. Passive components … who knows? But more or less the tuner works. I’m wondering if reverse engineering the tuner in order to sketch a schematic. I’m almost sure, should I do, that the day after someone’s gotta find an original schematic at an unaffordable price. Anyway … maybe I try.
Thank you very, very, very much. I don't even know how to thank you. Here in the USA, no one has this scheme. If anyone else needs it, can I send this schematic to other people??
Don’t mention it! I recently re-bought it from MusicParts, because I did not remember that I had it already, lost in an old (2015) hard disk I forgot I had. So I paid it twice. But it’s all right, indeed. I’m happy you enjoy this Xmas gift!! Please do what you like with the schematic. Anything that travels in the web is anyway instantaneously worldwide spreadable and - actually - spread. Cheers and Best Wishes!!
It was exactly that, a Christmas present! And yes, of course I won't sell it. And if you need something here in the USA and I can help, I will be happy to help you.
