WARNING: Tube/Valve amplifiers use potentially LETHAL HIGH VOLTAGES.
Building, troubleshooting and testing of these amplifiers should only be
performed by someone who is thoroughly familiar with
the safety precautions around high voltages.
I am placing an order with a Bulgarian company for some IC chips at reasonable prices and to receive combined shipping I thought I would order a few Russian tubes.
Any precautions on purchasing Russian tubes from the 80's.
One general precaution is that overall production quality of russian tubes plunged somewhat in the 80's.
There are social and economical reasons for that.
So tubes from 80's, especially from the second half of the decade have to be tested and cherry-picked, you cant just take 10 tubes and expect them to have equal quality.
