I have this CD player that sounds terrific.Nevertheless has a problem.
Can't operate it with any universal remote control I tried.
I tried with controls as Harmony 300 and 650 and with philips and marantz controls. So the player must be faulty.
Has anyone had any similar experience?

Have you checked the output of the remote receiver in the player with a scope to see if the data train is clean ? If you haven't a scope then a DVM will at least show the presence of data by a change on the output pin voltage.

Worth checking. It might be just a faulty receiver.

Thanks a lot for your response.
I checked the output pin voltage of the receiver with a DVM as you suggested
and there is no change when using the remote control.So it looks the receiver is faulty.
