Barrie Gilbert has passed away from the consequences of a fall. This is sad news for me, I used his ideas in a class project in 1969 and was thrilled to have worked with him for over 40yr. A truly brilliant mind.
This is truly very sad news. I have leared a lot from reading what he has written.
A very brilliant person, a big loss.
RIP Barrie Gilbert

Barry was a brilliant man, and my early education in analog design was for a large part through his writings.
Even at his advanced age he was full of activities and plans working on a full home theater and multi-synthesizer sound system. A boundless mind, truly.
A few years ago he offered to write an article series for Linear Audio but for some reason never got past the first installment.
He will truly be missed.

very sad to hear this news ....
i spent many days in the company libraries (remember those?) many years ago during my Bell Labs days hunting down Barrie Gilbert articles as a new engineer. They were fantastic reading (and still are).
RIP Barrie ....
