Rewiring speakers

I'm going to rewire my Dillon Acoustics Metaphor kits speakers. I initially used teflex silver-plated copper which is OK but can be improved upon. I've got some Kimber 15.5 awg TCX, which is stranded copper in teflon. I passed on Cardas litz over fears of the enameling. What do you recommend I use if you think Kimber's not the best bet? If you like Cardas, should I be concerned about the enameling?

I like a smooth, mellow sound, particularly in the treble. Silver plated copper is not smooth and mellow, IMO.
