Can anyone tell me what I should use for resonance frequency. Eton give two types of resonance frequency, Resonance frequency 1 W and Resonance frequency TSP ? In case of Eton 11-581/50 Hex it is 18Hz or 23Hz.
Thanks Andreas

Looking at the technical data impedance graph, use 18Hz.

Thanks.
But i does not understand why Eton use two types of resonance frequency. What is the difference ?

Not sure either and is the reason that I always test the speakers first because figures the manufacturers give are general ones.
I'd use the frequency of at the peak on the impedance graph, which appears to be 18Hz, unless anyone can think of a technical reason to go for the other. Does it make much difference to the box size & tuning? I doubt that it would, there's no need to get response below the low 30s anyway.
I would just measure the actual speaker.
All you need is a voltmeter and a signal generator for your PC.

And then be prepared for some other value. Maybe Eton is reliable, but a lot of what is available to DIYers is substandard product that failed QC and went out a side door, not to OEM buyers. That's why I settled on Scanspeak back in the 80s when I got tired of Audax and SEAS and Morel drivers measuring nearly x2 for fs. Not to mention Becker or CTS or Pyle or Peerless etc.

+1
The 23 Hz TSP I assume is short for Thiele Small Parameters. i wonder if it is a calculated number based on the specified compliance and effective mass? Or they want you to use that value for Ts calculations. otherwise I agree that the measured resonance is 18 Hz.
