Hi,
Last posted in 2007-2008 so it's been a while!
I have an old Audiolab 8000A Integrated Amp my father gave me (actually I inherited it after he died during, but not of Covid), it works perfectly but the Speakers and Power knobs were knocked off, probably by Mum whacking the cupboard door shut. I did a wee search here but cannot find too much by the way of non-electrical parts and advice.
The Speaker knob has a longer square shaft still sticking out, whereas the Power button has just a short bit (maybe broken off?).
Both buttons actually still work just fine, if you use a pencil to operate them, but that's obviously not ideal. It still sounds great.
I was wondering if the knobs can be replaced? See photos.
My wife is an Electronics Engineer (microelectronics, they make controllers with Chip on baord and SMT in a factory, but is not an audio enthusiast) so is probably able to do the soldering, if any is required (si it likely). I am currently based in Asia, so I think it would be too expensive to send the whole unit back to the UK for repair.
Serial No. is 207B78227 or 207878227 as it is not clear, if there was any difference in model years.
cheers
k.
