I recently bought a marantz cd-330 from Craigslist. The seller told me it's likely just the belts need replacement.
I don't have experience with tape decks but I have experience repairing electronics so I thought I'd give it a go.
I opened it up to see what was going on and it looks indeed the belts are done for. In fact, the rubber on the flywheels has melted and turned to a paste like residue.
Here are some pics:
I ordered a belt kit and I am going replace them. What's the best way of cleaning the fly wheels? Also which belt goes where?
Any help appreciated.
