I have been lurking into this community for over a year now, I highly appreciate the way things are handled in an overall manner.
Hereunder you can see the reason for my first post.
Although I have been using the search function I couldn't find any hints to improve/mod a technics SL-P202A Cd-player.
I know this is a budget player, but actually when I bought it new something like 20 years ago it was apparently good value for money.
The player has always been quite noisy mechanically speaking and now stopped playing.
As the player has a CDM-4/19 I thought it might be worth it to have a closer look to get it working again and at the same time try to mod the thing.
I wanted to try some mods anyway as I am planning to buy a Marantz CD 67 but would like to do some testing of my soldering skils..
DAC seems to be MN6471 – MN6625 (filter ?) which I never heard about.. but it's used in the SL-P555 which is not having the CDM-4/19 btw ... another thing I don't understand... or is the CDM-4 series simply overrated ?
Could anyone get me on the right way starting ?

CDM4/19s are definitely not overrated. Search for threads for the transport, you won't find anything on that player. I can send you a service manual for another player that uses the 4/19 if you would like.
