Regulated supplies within regulators (SuperReg)

Hi,

I'm just looking at Allen Wright's SuperReg, and there is a 30v reference voltage in the regulator section of the design, and it says '+30 Reg!'

Do I need to build a separate regulator for this, or is it OK to use the output of the SuperReg with a voltage divider to get this 30V?

He does suggest using another SuperReg or 317 for the reference voltage, but I was wondering if my idea is acceptable.

Allen got back to me and said that the SuperReg may never start if you do the suggested.

It needs a separate supply.
