hello, there is a house going to be knocked down nearby, and it has some of those lightswitch knobs on it that you can turn to adjust the light to any level.
these are made for 240v 100-300w useage, do you think i can easily just fasten one to the light wires in my 400w OHP to have onboard brightness level?

as long as your OHP hasn't been retro-fitted with a MH lamp then I don't see a problem with it. You should be able to easily adapt it to your setup to control the brightness level.

okay, this sounds promising. can i just clip the wires that are currently there and attach the wall brightness switch to them as is?
place the dimmer switch between the positive output wire of the lamp assembly and the lamp. that'll give you brightness/dimmer control. its installed exactly as you would do it in your house.
