I need know what transistor is recommended for a single ended Class A amplifier.
I want a transistor with good sound and good termic capacity.
My amp run at 30V x 2A in each output transistor.
Thanks,
Aldovan

The MJ15003/15004 are pretty tough little TO-3's. If you want to use a plastic package, the MJL21195/21196 will do well.
Hi,
Try MJ15023/15024.They have higher ft (4MHz) then the MJ15001/15003. Don't use high hfe transistor in single ended amps, they will oscillate. I had that problem when I built JLH se amp. I tried to use the 2SC3281, and it didn't work.

Re: output transistor
I think maybe you should look elsewhere for the reason it sounds bad. Check for incorrect bias; already oscillating; faulty part; incorrectly installed part; wrong value part; poor amp design; etc.
Good luck.

Hi Aldovan, aldovan said:Thanks, but I try this transistor and the sound is bad, too.
