Recommendation for off the shelf DAC

Planning to use JR River and need a stereo DAC that will give me Good perfomance. I mean is there a dac that will give me say at least the performance of some cd players of years past. say the acceptable performance of Sony s9000es for example..

I guess the question is 2 parts.. Are we there with performance and if so what to dac will give me this providing I use best possible way to store the music files...

Opamps (CMOS ones) within the ES9023 DAC chip. Bit of a waste of a decent tube methinks as they can't be bypassed.
