recommend 12VDC to about 24VDC booster

I have tried 2 laptop wallwart (19VDC) both of them signal is rather noisey. I have a clean linear 12VDC(5Amp) source and like to use a booster such as http://www.amazon.com/SUNKEE-LM2577...F8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=nav_timeline_asin

anyone recommend a similar booster for noncritical audio work? (bedroom setup with TK2050 chip)

The cost of a booster doesn't make sense most of the time compared to straight up buying a power brick.

After all, a power brick is an 340V DC (or 170V in the US) to 24V step down converter.
