I bought one of these recently and received no paperwork with it. I asked the seller what the spare connections J2 and KPW, KSL etc, but have not really had answer.
Does anyone know what they are there for and if there is any benefit in using them?

Connect 12V. Insert batteries into the remote. Point at IR sensor
Try steering (movement).
Input / output can be measured in different positions with a multimeter (R)
Additional outputs can be used for indication.

The J1 connector looks to be for a set of push buttons, I suspect connecting KUP to GND will fad eup, KDN fade down, KSL might be switch to slow fade? KPW - not sure, perhaps power for LEDs on the remote button PCB?
