The GND Layer is very poor on the PCB. I increase it with some wires, direkt from Power socket to the USB Ports. So the higher current from the USB dosen't go throu the PCB AND all ( current hungry ) USB Drives starts up without problems.

Also i don't use the connectors on the DAC Board from cirrus. i connected all wires direct.

I use two of my power supply Boards to supply with voltage. One with LM338 (5 Amps) for Rpi and the USB Drive, and the other with a LM317 (1,5Amps) goes to the DAC.

Wow.. I think that looks very very good... I love the layout and finish. I love your solution with the fibreglass for the indicator leds.

I had a look on your website... das sieht sehr schön aus...

A Music server with the RPI is high on my todo list. There are a lot of Dac and software possibilities available. Could you tell me why you ended up with this configuration?

R.

I buy the DAC i think a year ago, maybe some months more. At this time i don`t found much Information or Projects about Hifiberry or the Cirrus DAC. I decided it about the less informationen i found. The biggest point in my opinion is that the cirrus board got a "better" Hardware, Layout and PCB.
BUT .... this is only one side of the medal ... the Software package from Cirrus is bad. My best friend make the Software as a Birhtday present for me, he spent some ( many 😀 ) Hours until it works. The Pi works in a carton some months until i got some Time to build it in a Case - i got many Flacs, the sound is great - i like it.

The software is not final - but it is not the highest prio to change it in the Moment.

I don't compare it with other power supplys - but i think **** in - **** out - so i spend always a little bit more in the power supply.

This looks really really great.
Can you say something about the OS and kernel and how are you satisfied with the Cirrus logic Audio Card.
I also use the CLAC and think your skills are underestimated. Digital out does not seem you?

Ciao
