Questions about updates/upgrades

I just purchased a Bogen AP-35 amplifier that seems to sound good but I would like to make the necessary updates to make the unit safe. I also have questions about replacing the input plugs and speaker binding posts. Can someone give me some advice about where to begin?

The RCA's and outputs all look original. Sorry for the poor quality. The seller told me he had been using the amp with no problems so he never took it apart. I checked the unit with a dim bulb tester (no direct short ) and brought the power up using a variac. He told me he thought there might have been some updates in the past but wasn't specific. Details about this unit are pretty slim. I found what purports to be a schematic but it looks very similar to one for the AP-30. Maybe I'll know more when I get it opened up.

Not sure the photos made it. Will try again. I have some soldering experience. I am a little nervous about the high voltages. Is there an easy but accurate way for me to identify these points?
