Hi everyone I have an Econo wave build with a ceramic magnet 12 in and above it a Neo magnet compression driver. I was reading online a Neo magnet can weaken other magnets. I can't find information on whether they need to be touching or just in close proximity. If this is true what would be the best way to shield the ceramic magnet?
Shield it with a 10-12 ga galvanized steel plate same as was done back in the day when AlNiCo motor speakers would totally warp a CRT tube monitor/TV.
I have similar concerns on ferrite magnets and storing drivers in boxes close to each other. Bad idea?
Not an expert but one might think that the distance between two drivers in a box is sufficient to eliminate this concern. If this was not the case I think we might have had this brought to our attention. Side by side in storage is another issue. Impact, heat and cold are also things to consider in storage, not just proximity.
Too far for any influence on each other.Hi everyone I have an Econo wave build with a ceramic magnet 12 in and above it a Neo magnet compression driver. To boot, each one is working in its own magnetic circuit: plates and polepiece, which mostly shield each one from external influence.
It takes a magnetizer, which is A BEAST of a machine, to influence them.
