Question about IRAUDAMP1 comparator

Hi, I'm thinking of building the iraudamp1 from international rectifier, they have given a simple schematic using a very expensive comparator; LT1220.
So my question is , can I use another comparator like OPA4830. It's got twice the slew rate, can be powered from the same supply and costs half the price. Oh and it lacks the offset adjustment, something tells me it's not necessary.
Perhaps there are better opamps.

Also I have another question is if you know or have heard of anyone who has built this amp on a diy pcb and got it working? thanks

Hi ghabrius,

why iraudamp1?
There are the newer ones iraudamp7s and -t
I took the gerber files, that they offer, gave them to pcb manufacturer and received perfect boards. It's a one layer PCB, works fine. With this version you have some protection circuit. The parts are available here in germany, so should be even easier to get in the US.
At the moment I'm working on a layout for half an iraudamp7s for toner transfer methode.
