I decided to build a 5V Bobken for my Shigaclone. I'm using this version as originally posted by Peter Daniel and discuused by him and Bobken

The 3 Ohm resistor was selected in place of the original 15 Ohm to allow for a greater current output. The other postings about the Bobken suggest that it needs to be built as shown. It apparently can become unstable if varies too much from the posted design. My questions are how low a resistance value can be used in this location, and what is the maximum possible current which a Bobken can supply at 5V?
