Dear Forum,

I am writing if anybody could help me with a little technical help, I don't know if I'm knocking at the right door... I am now about to remove the old and put some new dustcover into my Quad 57's panels.

I am asking what kind of cellotape should be used for the procedure?
I can source 50mm wide PP, PVC, BOPP tapes, but I have no idea which one should I buy?
Should it be thick or thin, supple or rigid, etc. ?

Thank you for your help in advance!

Nobody seems to be replying. Quad used a tape that is about 2" wide. I use a standard packing tape width tape, but the tape I use is a bit thicker than normal packing tape.

I glue the dust cover to the frames, and then the tape is really only holding the frames together and blocking holes for the dust to get in around the edges.

hope that helps.

Sheldon

Dear Sheldon,

Thank you for your info. I have finished your refurbishing book at least 100 times, and it is quite helpful. Last year I did some repair job at the voltage multiplier, but this will be my first time to do a thorough ,,refurbish" on my pair. (or at least to replace all the dustcovers, and check for the specs all parts)
