Hi I just wondered if anybody knows whether the 0.1uf cap (yellow) which connects from D14 to R16 (as per pic) is a valid quad modification or not. I would also be interested if anybody has any idea's on the purpose of this capacitor. I purchased the amp many years ago secondhand (unmodified at the time) however the capacitor was present at the time of purchase.

Hard to be sure but it has a look of originality to it. Not many diyer's would add the yellow sleeving.
I can't locate a D14 on the diagram but R16 is part of the bootstrap circuit and so I'm guessing the cap straddles the diode chain responsible for biasing (D4 here).

Thank you Mooly. I concur with your thoughts about the sleeving, so it probably is a valid modification added by Quad 🙂
As it says it "speeds up" the action of the circuit it is across .
Usually involved in BJT,s but a silicon diode has a similar composition as a BJT .
Thats very basic but here is a more explanatory reading still simple-
