I have an old quad 33. It worked initially, but now it can be silent in right channel for a long time and suddenly it comes back. It happens once or twice a week lately. Any suggestions?
It will be a number of years old and in need of some specialist care.
Your issue could be capacitor linked or just bad connections. There are many edge connectors that will require cleaning as well if it hasn't been touched in a while.

Insulated prodding stick? Cool-spray? Both are quite handy to help search for issues like this, but first thing is power down, open up and re-seat all the connectors carefully a few times, while looking for dirt and corrosion and leaky components.
Thanks. I think it's a bit to time consuming for me. I have found a local vintage rep guy. I would rather spend my time on loudspeakers. But, I love my quad 33 and 303. They both sound good and look good.

Quick fix for now. The cards did not feel well seated. Took them out, and put them in again. The cards do not look 100% like others I have seen
Seen hundreds of those. The green caps vary but that’s the most common layout.
It’s time for a recap. Those three plastic electros will crack if they haven’t already.

Thanks. It's not the boards I think. It's related to the cancel and tone control buttons. I will try cleaning those first, and the the electros
