Yes, as the grease in the slider gets stiffer with ageing, more force needs to be applied and the “fork” cracks eventually.
You could cut/file/drill/route the part from an aluminium sheet, that is what I did about ten years ago.
I can draw you a 3D model, but I’m only back at my desktop computer tomorrow. Have a little patience.
Kind regards,

Just this: the Quad 33 is a nice good looking little preamp (hence a re-issue), but a bit limited for current digital sources at a level of up to 2V with it’s single-rail supply of around 11V. Input sensitivity is 100mV, easy to overload. Also the phono preamp and the tape input/output have certain limits. It is a good idea to restore one but do not expect the ultimate sound experience from it. I’ll see to that 3D drawing today.
my HI fi i have at home is middle class 90s system nothing special so quad33 will be okey for that level , please send me that 3d model i send you my email on pm few days ago , thank you
I’ve made the two bits of the “fork” a bit thicker (2.5 mm instead of ca. 1.65 mm) to make them stronger.
The original one appeared to have been glued already, so I took the occasion to test my print result.
You can pry the old block out of the slider using a sharp knife, cutting the old glue. It comes off easily.
I ask you to keep the model for yourself as I have had strange experiences in the past with models for turntable parts I provided to someone, they appeared on Thingiverse and then an *Bay seller offered them at a not so reasonable price, etc.
Enjoy your music (that’s the most important part).
