"Valve Amplifiers" states that the ratio is 9.375:1 between anode and cathode windings, which equates to 11%.

Hi,

While I must have stated this before, I often find that valve amps using this CFB configuration sound more musically convincing, I can't help but wonder why it's so hard to find a manufacturer who actually carries a range of these OPTS in their product catalogue.

Is there any particular reason for this that you guys are aware of?

Yes. It needs very careful output transformer design to keep the thing stable. (For stability) it's much easier to apply global feedback than cathode feedback at the output stage to produce a given distortion figure.

I did discuss a CFB tranny over email with Robert Hammond about six months back. He believes the idea has merit and passed it on to his engineers.

I'm pretty sure that Sowter would build as a custom if required.
Also, they carry design data for a number of 'classic' tube amps.
