What construction choices when building a driver affect (raise/reduce) the Qe and Qm of a driver, a woofer in particular?
My specific interest is:
What does a vented pole piece do compared to a sealed one (I am guessing the sealed one adds to the stiffness of the suspension)
What does a stiff spider?
Does the surround affect much? (If I am not mistaken it's effect is much less than that of the spider)
What controls Qe?

A vented pole piece will reduce the mechanical damping, leading to a high Qms.
A stiff spider will increase the mechanical damping, leading to a low Qms.
The surround offers less mechanical damping than the spider.
Qes is controlled by the magnet strength. A strong magnet increases the electrical damping and lowers Qes.
