I am looking for a couple of these drivers. I just built a pair of speakers that have them and wouldn't mind having some extras. Let me know if you have them and how much you would like.
Thanks!

Good luck finding them. A couple years ago, I posted about those drivers because I noticed a small slit in two of my drivers. I posted about it over on the Elsinore thread and someone gave me a link to someone who had two left. The drivers that are damaged don't seem to have affected the sound so I haven't swapped them out yet. Just out of curiosity I went to find those drivers I bought, they haven't even been opened, and I just realized they sent me the SB17NRX235-08 needless to say I'm kinda pissed. I thought I got the last two pairs that were commercially available.
Well I think my slits are from my cat or my kids. They pretty small and it's in the surround. They are only about 1/4 inch and look like it was done with something very sharp. I thought about putting a little silicone on the two spots, but that was before I thought I had found replacements, but now I guess I'm back to the silicone idea. Maybe if I have a rich relative I don't know about leave me some money when they die I'll build the ULD version. I guess I can keep a look out on eBay too.
That is a shame about the slits. Well, after I get my NRX drivers, you are more than welcome to take advantage of any others that come along. I think it was a fairly commonly used driver. I would recommend sealing those slits. Maybe send SB acoustics an email. However, there are adhesives and sealants made for speakers. That may work better than silicone.
Also, move the damaged drivers to the bass positions and not the mid positions as the issues may present themselves less there.
Here is the one that I purchased. I received it today and installed it:

There is one listed that is uncoated. However, I wonder if that would effect the TS parameters of the driver. There are a few in other countries I believe as well.

You mean something like this? https://www.amazon.com/Pro-Grade-Ru...ocphy=9191726&hvtargid=pla-2281435178338&th=1
My issue is I'll spend $4 on that half once bottle, and find out it's just repackaged ATV sealer/gasket maker for vehicles. LOL.

I'll probably ended up buying something like that on that off chance it really does have something "special" in it's formulation.
